The flat sheer line of the SL5 is also a bit easier hull to fish out of if you jig. These are heavy hulls that crush chop but cats do drive differently than a mono, so ride in one before you invest . A world cat 245 or 266 is close to equivalent if you can't get a ride on an sl5.

SeaCat SL5 data dump! About 6 years ago, I bought a used 95 SL5 with Honda 130's but it was too freaking slow. Replaced with 1999 Opti 200's and it would crest the 50mph mark at WOT and cruise in the 35-38 mph range with ease. About 2 years ago, I upgraded to 2011 Opti 225's as the weight was about the same.

I had 90 hp hondas on the boat and went to 140 Suzukis In hinesight I wish I had gone with the 150' Suzikis-more thrust and larger prop size with a little less effort. (read up on the gear ratio)

Yes, Sport Cat rated the 25', 2000 year models w/ a 400 HP rating. Boat is fast. Cruise is 38 MPH @ 3800 RPMs with combined fuel consumption of 16 to 17 GPH. WOT is 53 MPH @ 5500 RPMs (GPS). We also have a 1995, 25' SL5 Seacat w/ 140 Suzi 4-strokes. Boat runs great but not as fast as the Sport Cat w/ 200's.;)

2015年7月1日 · World Cat bought Sea Cat in 1997 for the SL5 molds and then extended the bow higher and further forward to make the 266 but the wetted running surface remained the same. When recommending props for this package you can think of the SL5 hull as lighter weight, more aerodynamic, 266 world cat with less bow flair and a straight sheer line.
