2022年6月2日 · Enki is depicted on several Mesopotamian seals with two rivers, the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, flowing over his shoulders. He is shown wearing a long skirt and robes and a horned cap, the mark of divinity. He has a long beard and an eagle is shown to be flying down to sit on his outstretched arm.

Carved on greenstone, the first of these two seals shows several deities—Enki, Usmu, Shamash, Ishtar, and an armed god—gathering at dawn. In the next seal, Ishtar and Enki honor Enlil, who sits enthroned in his mountain abode, by raising their hands in a gesture of reverence.

Enki made homes in the cities for the Anuna gods and gave them land in the fields. He determined the borders, and marked them with boundary stones. Enki placed the whole of heaven and earth in the hands of Utu the sun god, the father of Urugal, the great city in the underworld.

To her right is Enki, the god of the Abzu (the underground water table) surrounded by water and fish. Beside him is Isimud, his two-faced minister. The writing in the background identifies the seal as belonging to Adda, a scribe.
