SEKAI BICYCLES: A TESTAMENT OF DETERMINATION SEKAI 4000 TRACK BIKE They partnered with Shin-wa trading company of Osaka to contract Sekai bikes to be built by several Japanese factories. The top of the line Sekai 4000 road and track frames, and superlight 5000 frames were made by a small custom frame shop called Miki.

This is a vintage used Sekai 4000 Professional road bike. This bicycle was hand made in Osaka Japan and features quality chromed lugwork and Tange Champion butted tubes with Shimano drop outs.

1977 Sekai 4000 Professional! It has Suntour Cyclone shifters, front derailleur and rear derailleur, Sugino Super Maxy crankset and Shimano hubs. It also has Grand Compe brake levers and brakeset. I was given the bike earlier this 2024 summer from the original owner Michael Wong and I was very very thankful for the beautiful Japanese road bike!

The 4000 was designed for racing wheels, not 27". There were no 4000 touring bikes, only road and track. There was also a 5000 model made of .6-.3 tubing, the predecessor of TangePrestige. The 4000s were made of Tange Champion. The Sekai company itself was a small family owned importer of Japanese goods and Sekai bikes and frames.

2006年8月22日 · Sekai Criterium 4000 I replaced my Fuji Professional with a Sekai Criterium 4000. I ordered it at the end of 1973 from Velocepide in Seattle. Components were mostly then then new Shimano Dura Ace. Mine was made from Ishiwata tubing and silver finish. I rode it quite a bit, mainly in Boston where it was my daily and only sled. I still have it.

Hello! I found someone selling a Sekai 4000 on CL. I'd post a link and pictures but I'm new here so apparently I'm not allowed. It appears to be in good condition with a Suntone Cyclone rear derailleur and Champion No. 2 tubes. I hear these bikes are top of the line, so is their price of $250 a good deal for it?

I believe the Sekai 4000 was their nicest model produced. This is vintage championsteal at its finest and the entire frame was chrome dipped. Wider 700c wheels with all traction tires have been installed. New Cinelli bar tape, brake hoods, and cables have also been added as well as upgraded down tube shifting and brake levers.
