Even though the physically fit, many switches and NICs will only support transceivers manufactured by the same company as the switch/NIC. Some switches/NICs will work with unsupported transceivers.

Same for SFP+-capable switch to SFP+-capable switch However DAC cables are kinda stiff and might not always dress-up the way you want them to. In that case, I would go with MMF or SMF fiber optic transceivers before I would go with RJ45 transceivers.
