The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG or Seal) is an institutionalized award, incentive, honor, and recognition-based program that is geared towards cultivating a culture of good governance in local government units.

The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), being a progressive assessment system that gives distinction to remarkable local government performance across several areas, highlights integrity and good performance to institutionalize local governance reforms in the continuing pursuit for meaningful local autonomy and development.

-The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) is an award, incentive, honor and recognition-based program for all LGUs and is a continuing commitment for LGUs to continually progress and improve their performance in the following areas by: (i) Conserving local culture and heritage and fostering their value and significance for tourism opportunity.

From its pilot run in 2010, the Seal of Good Housekeeping (SGH) promotes transparency and accountability in local operations. In 2010 84% of provinces, cities and municipalities are SGH recipients. This high percentage shows readiness for greater challanges.
