It’s really a P229, with the P229 slide, 229-1 frame, but wearing the P228 logo grip, when SIG originally released it. Some years later, SIG finally decided that it is officially a P229, so all current M11-A1s now wear the P229 logo grip.

2019年6月22日 · Whether SIG marketing is more deceitful calling a P229/M11A1 a "P228" or calling the current production stainless slide/MIM loaded P220 and P226 a real "P220" or "P226" is debatable. The classic P-series design has morphed; educated SIG owners know that and either accept the new reality or limit their SIG inventories to piece(s) of history.

2024年12月16日 · Many years later Sig marketed the M11-A1 as an homage to the 228, even putting P228 markings on the grip. Don't be fooled, other than some parts being coated better and shipped with an SRT, it's a 229 under the skin.

2015年7月7日 · I think the P228, particularly the West German ones from Sig's Golden Age, just offers a balance of size, power, and accuracy that make it very desirable. Plus, it's a proven performer in federal law enforcement field use and its reliability is the stuff of legend.

2020年10月24日 · The frame is as I would expect a used SIG to look - used, but not abused. Although there is nothing particularly special about this P228, I would like to make it special just for me. So, I thought I would send her off to the SIG Custom Shop for the SIG Service Plan, as well as having the gun (frame, slide, controls) refinished.
