On 10 Apr 1940, Lieutenant Commander William Lucy led 16 Skua aircraft of 800 Naval Air Squadron and 803 Naval Air Squadron in an attack on the German cruiser Königsberg in Bergen harbor in Norway and sank the warship; this was the first victory by aircraft against a warship.
