Is Legacy of the Dragonborn worth it? If so, why? : r/skyrimmods
If you're playing a non-Dragonborn playthrough LotD will not work for you. Thanks, this is exactly the kind of information I was looking for. I actually played a non-dragonborn merchant warrior for a long time, which is why I used Skyrim Unbound. I'd like to play though the main questline now though, so it sounds like LotD would suit that well.
Can someone explain what makes Legacy of the Dragonborn so
I think the biggest thing Legacy does, is change the gameplay loop of Skyrim. It's a simple change. All legacy really does at its core is add a "base" to the game. A base that changes over the course of the game, fleshing out with displays, and records of your game.

Legacy of the Dragonborn: Don't understand the hype?
Not so with Legacy of the Dragonborn. I have no idea what crazy item, if any, could be hiding somewhere in the depths of the dungeon. I, the veteran player, have been giving a new motive to explore, rather than neatly avoiding all the dungeons that I know have very little good loot (looking at you, Silverdrift Lair and Lost Knife Hideout).

This is my usual method, too. Start bad, end good. It works especially well if your character isn't a Nord or Imperial; like you arrive in Skyrim and after nearly being wrongfully executed by Empire-aligned Nords you understandably only care about looking out for number one and acquiring as much gold as possible, as quickly as possible, by any means necessary.
