SM U-100 [Note 1] was one of the 329 submarines serving in the Imperial German Navy in World War I. U-100 was engaged in the German campaign against Allied commerce (Handelskrieg) during that conflict. [4] U-100 was surrendered to the Allies at Harwich on 21 November 1918 in accordance with the requirements of the Armistice with Germany.

U-100 was the first U-boat sunk after being located by radar. HMS Vanoc discovered her during an overcast night that would have kept U-100 safe from lookouts. Unlike many other U-boats, which during their service lost men due to accidents and various other causes, U-100 did not suffer any casualties (we know of) until the time of her loss.

U 100, unter Kapitänleutnant Joachim Schepke, lief am 11.09.1940 von Lorient aus. Das Boot operierte im Nordatlantik, westlich des Nordkanals und Irlands. Nach 14 Tagen und zurückgelegten 3.074 sm über und 34 sm unter Wasser, lief U 100 am 25.09.1940 wieder in Lorient ein. U 100 konnte auf dieser Unternehmung 7 Schiffe mit 50.340 BRT versenken.

U 100 war ein diesel-elektrisches U-Boot der deutschen Kaiserlichen Marine, das im Ersten Weltkrieg zum Einsatz kam. U 100 lief am 25. Februar 1917 bei der AG Weser in Bremen vom Stapel und wurde am 16. April 1917 in Dienst gestellt. Ab Ende Mai 1917 war das Boot der II. U- Flottille in Helgoland und Wilhelmshaven zugeordnet. [1]
