We are an organization of student nurses and nursing faculty from across Rhode Island. SNARI members represent each of the nursing schools in Rhode Island and participate in community outreach, leadership opportunities and plan an annual convention.

Serotonin–norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) are a class of antidepressant medications used to treat major depressive disorder (MDD), anxiety disorders, social phobia, chronic neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS), and menopausal symptoms.

The functions of the Student Nurses' Association of Rhode Island (SNARI) shall be: To influence health care, nursing education, and nursing practice through appropriate legislative activities. To foster membership in professional organizations as nurse graduates. To promote and encourage student’s participation in interdisciplinary activities.

Venlafaxine (SNaRI), the most investigated of these new drugs, was shown to be effective in the treatment of different kinds of pain, with side-effects profile significantly better than TCAs. The other new antidepressants have been less extensively studied, thus only anecdotal therapeutic results and experimental works have been found and reported.

Membership in SNARI is open to ALL students and faculty in nursing schools across Rhode Island. All members participate in monthly meetings and community outreach events.
