The PS-2250 is the european equivalent of the japanese PS-2500: TTS-2500 drive, a solid base, no separate armboard and either a "basic" tonearm installed (mostly sourced from Grace in Japan - Yoshihisa Mori, developer of the XL-55, was at Grace before joining Sony :) or a PUA-1500S.

Bought in Japan in 1972, the SONY PS-2250 is a professional stereo turntable system with a servo controlled direct drive system that eliminates vibration and noise. This also eliminates influence on motor speed by the AC power frequency.

2019年9月8日 · The 2250 does not have a suspended plinth and has one tonearm, the 2251 has a suspended plinth and a different tonearm. The former was sold mostly in Europe, and the latter in the US, if I’m not mistaken (I have a 2251).

2012年1月26日 · Hi, i have a TD125MKII (fully serviced by me) with SME 3 tonearm and in a SME 2000 Plinth. I'm eyeing the possibility to buy a PS-2250 in great shape. Would this be an upgrade from my Thorens, sonically wise? Has somebody owned both TTs? Also, how good is that default stock tonearm on the PS-2250?

2006年5月23日 · Contrary to the posting, the Sony PS-2250 is an extremely competent and very well-built direct drive turntable - Sony's first DD, fitted with a decent arm and affording exceptional sonics if correctly set up.
