Later in early 1988 it went through SP's GRIP II rebuild program emerging as SP #6833. Athearn has announced a Bicentennial model of #9389 in HO scale.

It was the 200th SD45T-2 built. This locomotive was upgraded in March 1988 emerging as SP 6833 SP Class EF636LR-8. The disposition of this locomotive is, 6833 wrecked March 24, 1991 in Cody KS, scrapped. And one more... Man that was early on, it is very clean. Those are four superb roster shots Steve. The 9389 was indeed a beautiful locomotive!

SP 6833 started life as SSW 9389 in Bicentennial Paint, was rebuilt in Sacramento and released from there in March of 1988. SP 6833 would be destroyed in a headon crash at Cody KS in March of 1991. Sadly, most likely the only thing left in this shot is the sagebrush.
