2021年5月10日 · I just got hoodwinked myself. All excited as I run down to the Spectrum store to swap my older Sagemcom-Fast-5260 router for the all new, upgraded, much improved Wave 2 SAC2VIA router. No cost to me. The Spectrum sales person presented the router exactly as trained, I'm sure.

The 5 gHz has a short range, so go to the farthest part of your house, plug in your smart devices and they should automatically pick up the 2.4 gHz bandwidth which has the longer range.

2020年7月28日 · Note: I contacted Spectrum and they said they couldn't detect my modem and asked me to try to reconnect the coaxial cable. I did that and nothing really happened. 2022年6月14日 · If the router isn't locked down, put 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254 in your browser and you should get the router admin pages. 192.168.100.1 may get you the modem admin, but in my experience it does not work with Spectrum modems. As others have said, ASAP stop using their shitty lowest bidder garbage and get your own.

Also, the new Spectrum router does not have the ability to see any of the configurations - no 192.168.0.1 type of access. They have static IP addresses from Spectrum (98.x.x.x) but when they came out and installed the system (Arris Touchstone 16xx Gateway Router) they left it setup with DHCP and it's getting a 173.x.x.x.

When you put a switch after your modem that switch has no software designed to give out local ip addresses and route traffic to those assigned ip addresses. If it did it would be a router not a switch.

2022年1月5日 · What you would do is plug the new router directly into the modem and eliminate the Spectrum router. It is not required that you use our router. Once you get your new router, you would want to take the Spectrum router back to a Spectrum store so that the router can be removed from the account and the monthly charge can be removed as well.
