In this episode, Squidward accidentally freezes himself to the future. Early one Sunday morning, Squidward goes to his window to play his clarinet. However, SpongeBob's alarm clock goes off at the same time, jamming Squidward's clarinet in his throat.

In the episode, Squidward is frozen 2,000 years into the future and then meets descendants (SpongeTron and Patron) and ancestors (Primate Sponge and Prehistoric Starfish) of SpongeBob and Patrick while trying to return to his original time period.
