Here in Russia you can buy a nice road bike for this sum. * The spongy material wears out quickly and it's not replaceable. Consider wrapping the spongy halves with a reinforced sticky tape. I rode Spiderflex once on my commuter (Marin Muirwoods 29er) and immediately put a usual seat back. I will never ride Spiderflex on a sport-like bike again.

2009年6月8日 · I am not fond of anything spongy. Too soft only works for a few miles, my weight crushes the sponge and I wind up sitting on the actual seat support/base. The real seat looks like a joke. Lawn chair on a bike?? This can't be real. The Endurance model of the comfort model looks worth a try. Hope you get a response from someone who tried that.

(I wonder how much of the problem with wedgie seats is traceable to the fact that they're mostly made in Asia by these munchkins, who apparently don't realize that we westerners have big arses.) I also know, because a year ago, I tried riding the biggest local made seat I could find, and ended up in sheer agony for 2 weeks.

The nose piece doesn't have to be as high as a conventional seat. After reading the specs/dimensions of the seat, it appears women may enjoy the seat more than men...esp if they are riding a comfort/hybrid or cruiser bike on an extended ride/commute. The rear passenger pad is just a flat pad, and has no nose. I often wonder why the munchkins do this... I suspect that, small as they are, even some of them have too much discomfort from their seat noses, and so go to an improvised semi-recumbent style of pedalling from the rear passenger pad.

I bought a Spongy Wonder seat about a year ago, just after I had picked up a used Radius recumbent. Both are excellent solutions. Riding a 'bent in traffic has drawbacks, though. I plan to buy a second Spongy Wonder for a Roubaix road bike with f & r suspension I picked up off ebay, should be the best of both worlds.

If that is your choice as opposed to trying something new, than it is not inappropriate to suggest that that "type" of thinking would quite naturally lead to the type of nonobjective comments posted by those who have never tried our seat. 5.
