Units with a 2nd ATSF # in the 7200-7229 number series were painted in the red/yellow SPSF "Kodachrome" scheme. BNSF 1576 upward were assigned the GN reporting mark to the 1st BNSF # before rebuilt.

Thanks to the BNSF merger, a handful of SPSF-painted C30-7's that were acquired by BN returned to Santa Fe rails in the mid-1990's. In a classic post-merger multicolored consist, BNSF 5193, ex-ATSF 8150, teams up with a red and silver warbonnet (with a BNSF orange air conditioner) and a BNSF-renumbered GP60 on an eastbound baretable train.

2002年12月26日 · SPSF-painted BNSF 5189, laid up with a bad engine, was one of several BNSF C30-7's sent to the shops in West Burlington, IA to be stripped of usable parts in August 1999. The balance of the C30-7's were formally retired in May of 2002.

It became SPSF #3148 in July of 1985, only to be renumbered back to ATSF #3649 before December of 1987. It was rebuilt into a GP39-2u and renumbered #3445 at that time. It became BNSF #2845 in September of 1999. GP30u #2466 began life as ATSF #2768 in April of 1963. It also wore #1268 and #3268 before becoming SPSF #2768 in 1982.
