Who runs the St. George Fire Department? The St. George Fire Department is governed by the Board of Commissioners of the St. George Fire Protection District. This is a five member body appointed by the Metro Council.

The Fire Prevention Bureau’s focus is life safety. The goal of the bureau is to prevent deaths and injuries occurring through focused life safety code inspections, a broad fire education program, and a thorough examination of fire scenes.

The St. George Fire Department provides fire prevention and protection services as well as medical first response for most of the area south and east of Baton Rouge, Louisiana’s city limits. We are a career fire department made up of dedicated, highly trained fire service professionals.
