The Feast Centre is a national, community-driven research centre responding to sexually transmitted blood-borne infections in Indigenous communities. Our research is grounded in non-hierarchical, Indigenous knowledge and community identified concerns, and is the culmination of 20 years of community-based research.

The Feast Centre for Indigenous STBBI Research is a five-year, cross-Canada initiative that aims to support the development of community and academic scholars and scholarship grounded in Indigenous knowledges, decolonizing approaches, and community-based research to holistically support STBBI research with Indigenous communities.

Despite increasing access to treatment and screening, rates of sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBI) continue to rise in high-income countries. The high cost of undiagnosed and untreated STBBI negatively affects individuals, health care systems, and societies.

2024年12月11日 · On September 29, 2022, Feast Centre for Indigenous STBBI Research held a virtual conversation on monkeypox in Indigenous communities with infectious disease specialists and community leaders from across the country.

As part of a suite of support for Feast Centre Indigenous STBBI scholars, the Feast Centre is piloting the Miyo macihowin Writing Retreat for those who are committed to engaging in an Indigenous approach to writing aimed at integrating one’s whole self into one’s writing.
