2014年5月19日 · The Achilles heel of the 088 though is the crankshaft. It is far less forgiving on leaner mix or higher RPM than the 084 crank. The 084 crank is the toughest crank in a large displacement modern saw. The 084 cylinder has better port timing stock as well. So as stock saws go, the 084 is better in big wood with long bars.

2004年4月8日 · 090 084 088 880 Any of the saws mentioned are good for a large chainsaw mills, the old 090 has a bullet proofe crankshaft as does any of the bigger Stihl's. An 084 tends to over rev slightly, the newer 088 and 880 have about the same kind of power, but have been modified to give more ft lbs and less revs.

2009年1月15日 · Saw for sale locally 084 Stihl. Told it runs like new but also told in excellent condition. When I looked at the pictures, I notice a chip out of the cylinder cover, chain break handle is broken and the sprocket cover has a chunk out of it. Has a 36" bar. Asking $600 but I am thinking it is worth more along the line of $350 to MAYBE $450 tops.
