Dana Strand Beach is a public beach at the base of a gated housing development in Dana Point called “The Strand.” These are huge beachfront and hillside homes just north of the Dana Point Headlands that face southwest. The beach here is a nice sandy sunbathing spot that is also popular with surfers.

The Strand is a hidden gem between Dana Point and Salt Creek County Park. Its worth seeking out the paved trail down to it and the promenade that runs along the beach. Watch body surfers along with dolphins frolicking out in the surf line. Resting benches offer one to relax along the way and make sure you bring a picnic lunch.
