Stridsvagn 74 (strv 74) was a Swedish light tank [1] in use with the Swedish Army from 1958 to 1984. It was a modification of the older stridsvagn m/42 medium tank, which was phased out of service in the early 1950s.

The Stridsvagn-74 was a light tank derived from the WW2 Strv. M/42 and fitted with a new gun and turret to stay active from 1960 to the 1980s.

2019年4月9日 · The Strv 74 retained some of the qualities of the original Strv m/42 models though much primarily centered around the existing chassis. The design was given an all-new, electrically-powered (manual backup) turret emplacement featuring a 75mm main gun based on an existing anti-aircraft weapon.

Uppdraget att bygga om de gamla Strv m/42 chassierna lades ut hos miloverkstäder. De fick också ansvaret för slutmontering. Strv 74 togs fram i två varianter – dels H-varianten som byggde på Strv m/42 TH med den 2-växlade hydrauliska lådan, dels V-varianten med en 5-växlad manuell låda för båda motorerna.

Beteckningen "74" syftar på att den var det fjärde svenska stridsvagnsprojektet med en kanon med 7,5 cm kaliber.
