The Sukhoi Su-27 (Russian: Сухой Су-27; NATO reporting name: Flanker) is a Soviet -origin twin-engine supersonic supermaneuverable fighter aircraft designed by Sukhoi.

Maximum speed: 1400 km/h (756 knots, Mach 1.13) at sea level. Range 3,530 km (1,910 nautical miles) at high altitude. Range 1,340 km (720 nautical miles) at sea level. In the Soviet Union, the MiG-29 was the main fighter for front defence. Engagement was under strict rules from air defence command.
