Su-Mei Tse (born 1973) is a Luxembourgish musician, artist and photographer. Her work combines photography, video, installations and music. In 2003, she received the Golden Lion award at the Venice Biennale for the best national participation. [1]

Su-Mei Tse is an internationally-celebrated artist who rose to prominence in 2003 when she represented Luxembourg at the Venice Biennale and was awarded the prestigious Leono d’Oro award for her tripartite installation ‘Air Conditioned’.

Born into a family of musicians, to a Chinese father and an English mother, in Luxembourg – a country characterised by its multilingualism – S.-M. Tse studied the cello before attending the Beaux-Arts de Paris, from which she graduated in 2000.

Su-Mei Tse’s multidisciplinary practice contemplates existence, notions of time, language, and music. She captures the ephemeral nature of the world and fleeting moments of memories and impressions in everyday life.
