This is an important area of huge biological interest, particularly because of the upper limestone areas that surround it, and the pavements and scars typical of limestone areas.

There are closely similar variations found in other Native American words. I have not found (or haven't so far) the origin of the word "boggin" for a knitted, wool cap.
