The sun produces light with a distribution similar to that expected from a 5250°C blackbody (gray), which is approximately the temperature of the Sun’s surface.

The Sun emits radiation from X-rays to radio waves, but the irradiance of solar radiation peaks in the visible wavelengths (see figure below).
