The Superstition Mountains (Yavapai: Wi:kchsawa) is a range of mountains in Arizona located to the east of the Phoenix metropolitan area. They are anchored by Superstition Mountain, a large mountain that is a popular recreation destination for residents of the Phoenix, Arizona, area.

Located east of Greater Phoenix, the Superstition Mountains tower over 6,000 feet above the Sonoran Desert. The Superstitions, as they're known colloquially in Arizona, are only 40 miles from the Greater Phoenix area.

The Superstition Mountains of Central Arizona have long been shrouded in mystery and folklore. From its ancient geological formation to the Apache and Yavapai people who lived there for thousands of years, this mountain range holds a unique history that is still being explored today.
