The 55cc 2-stroke motor produced 4.5 horsepower paired with a 3-speed transmission and a automatic clutch. In English speaking countries the M31 was marketed as Suzuki 55 Suzy (M31). It used a new mechanism, an automatic centrifugal clutch, which allows to change gears without disengaging the clutch.

2008年6月7日 · I'd buy another one in a heartbeat if it was low mileage. This was Suzuki's answer to the Honda Cub in the early sixties. I worked in a Honda shop in 1966 and had a lot of opportunities to ride Cubs and I'd rate to Cub as only slightly superior to an M31 except that the valve gear required more maintenance.

Taking the step-through idea under its wing, Suzuki came out with two 'MoKick' models, the 50cc M30 and 55cc M31. Both two-stroke singles were housed in identical bodywork that was a near copy of the Honda Cub's. Offered here is a U.S.-delivery example in original condition.
