2021年10月12日 · For those who have used both the Optimus 8R and SVEA 123 which do you prefer better? I have both but have not used them as much as I thought I would. I know the 123 heats water up quicker because of the higher output. Part of me likes the simplicity of the 8R. For me I feel they are easier to prime and get started. Which do you prefer and why?

2020年4月14日 · I have found that "upright" stoves like the SVEA 123, and the Optimus 80 warm up faster, and boil water faster than the Optimus 8R. My opinion is that the "upright" burner has a stronger thermal "connection" with the fuel tank, warming the fuel tank faster, than the 8R tank.

2010年3月5日 · In their catalog, Optimus has always listed the SVEA 123 at 4,700 Btu's, whilst they rate the 8R at 3,300 Btu's of power. In practice, I've found them to be similar, however, for my very best SVEA's, I've not found a single 8R that can match them in boiling speed.

2014年3月20日 · I have a couple of newbie-type questions I hope someone can help me with. I have an Optimus 8R I bought used in 1980 and used for several years. It set for a long time and I bought a rebuild kit a few years ago and started using it again. I also have a SVEA 123R and enjoy that. So, nothing too exotic.

2011年5月31日 · On both the Svea 123R and the Optimus 8R, what is the thread size and pitch on the burner that screws onto the valve body? I have an optimus 88 kit where I have to remove the burner for storage inside the pots, and I have the cheap original plastic cap that pushes on.
