Which caliber do most SWAT teams use in carbines?
2011年8月19日 · Handguns are quite different, in that most teams carry what their agency issues. So if one agency issue a GLOCK 9mm, then their SWAT guys typically carry that. Some agencies are different, however. LAPD SWAT still carry's 1911's (last I knew) and their road guys do not. Sniper rifles are most commonly .308's, but more and more are getting .50's.

Lapd Swat Cops - Police Forums & Law Enforcement Forums
2008年9月21日 · Yes our SWAT team is picky, but I would venture to guess so is any SWAT team in the country. The standards and tests to get in are very difficult and only a handful pass, male or female. Not true about "most candidates being ex-something special" military wise. I know a bunch of our SWAT guys that aren't ex-military, athough some others are.

Discussion: SWAT vs. ESU - Police Forums & Law Enforcement …
2008年12月21日 · I think that a tactical unit such as SWAT should have its main focus on just that, SWAT related duties. I will say that our unit (full time) also does more than our fair share of search and rescue. Since rappelling, man-tracking, waterborne etc are a part of our normal training, we can and do pull rescue type of assignments.
UK's equivalent to the US's S.W.A.T... - Officer.com
2003年8月26日 · The 'obsession with SWAT' isn't limited to those who aren't already in LE, but also includes many department heads and administrators. IMO, there are too many SWAT teams in the USA. I don't see the reasoning behind small departments having SWAT teams when they can barely afford to pay their officers a living wage and give them dewcent equipment.
SWAT retirement age - Police Forums & Law Enforcement Forums
2011年12月16日 · SWAT officers don't retire, then just keep falling back to the back of the stack. ^^EXACTLY^^ While my days of working in a tactical role are long past; if my knee and ankle cooperated and I had an opportunity I would go right back.
