2022年2月21日 · Encyclia randii is definitely one of the most beautiful Encyclia species, and it also has one of the largest flowers in the genus, competing in size with E. cordigera. Orchid growers sometimes confuse E. randii with the white-lipped form of E. cordigera, but vegetatively the two species look quite different.

Encyclia is a species rich genus that is distributed widely throughout the New World tropics with two species in Florida and the greatest concentration occurring in Mexico. Most species are evergreen, sympodial epiphytes or terrestrials and occur in seasonally dry to wet forests.

Encyclia cordigera can be attached to cork flakes or tree ferns, as long as we can provide them with high humidity and watering at least once a day during the summer. If grow in pots, it is recommend to use airy, quickly drying substrate like cork nuggets or coarse pieces of pine bark.
