Symphior was a planetar who was planted to grow and eventually protect the land. However, its development was interrupted by the corruption of the land, which made it deformed. It was awakened early by the Myriad's drilling for platinum, and started terrorizing the mines.[1]

2017年5月23日 · Symphior’s Strategy. Lacking the physical strength or weaponry of the fully-developed planetar, Symphior drew on its connection to the land around it for power. Whenever combatants got within striking distance, Symphior used its action and legendary actions to damage them or put distance between them and the planetar.

Symphior the Withered Planetar might be the most underrated encounter that VM had. I loved how Matt used the legendary actions and the terrain instead of making it a straightforward battle.

Vox Machina cleared Symphior the Withered Planetar from a platinum mine for the Myriad; Symphior was planted there in stasis, to emerge as a guardian in a "Ragnarok-type circumstance," but the land around it was corrupted and it awoke prematurely in monstrous form.

At the bottom of the shaft, they find an ancient stone platform carved with Celestial runes that speak of a gestating guardian called Symphior. The guardian appears just then, a corrupted-looking cherub. It releases a horrible scream and they leap into combat.

2017年5月19日 · Symphior has taken 171 total damage. The creature uses a legendary action to freeze the air around Vax. Success, 13 cold damage. Pike rolls a Nat1 to climb down, but catches herself with her Shield with Feather Fall. Pike casts a 5th level Guiding Bolt at the baby. 19+10 hits for 42 damage. Lots of 6s on the d6s.
