The Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star (or T-Bird) is an American subsonic jet trainer. It was produced by Lockheed and made its first flight in 1948. The T-33 was developed from the Lockheed P-80/F-80 starting as TP-80C/TF-80C in development, then designated T-33A. It was used by the U.S. Navy initially as TO-2, then TV-2, and after 1962, T-33B.

For 2025, owner Chris Rounds will continue that tradition with The Red Knight updated with a patriotic twist by adding new white lettering to the fuselage.
There were only six aircraft that can be considered as the official “mounts” of the RCAF/CAF Red Knight. Of these, four were Canadair T-33 Silver Stars and two were Canadair CL-41 Tutors. The Silver Stars, or “T-Birds” as they were commonly known as, carried tail numbers 21057, 21574, 21620 and 21630, while the Tutors were 26153 and 26154.1

It remains in service and will probably best be remembered to the public as the aircraft flown by the RCAF's aerobatic soloist, "The Red Knight." A s part of the Mutual Aid program, Canada has given T-33's to Bolvia, Greece, Portugul, and Turkey. T he T-33 on display at the Bomber Command Museum is on long term loan by Orville Rowland of Okotoks.
