2014年2月25日 · I recommend send t1 blades to HT services, ask them if they supports ht t1. As for small shop ht, some recent Paragon oven supports heat to 2350F; Evenheat KO oven supports up to 2400F. Keep in mind, 309 ss foil is rated for max 2240F, so ht need to use multilayer when using 309 ss foil. At 65rc, I expect T1 be tougher than T-15.

1999年10月4日 · The lady selling it says it's T1 steel, whatever T1 is. I need to learn these different steel types. She mihgt be jerken me around too. Thanks for the input, I think I'll go with the 110 pounder at Harbor Freight for $85. Seems to me that whatever the beam is made of, it wouldn't have a hardened face anyway.

2004年12月1日 · M4 has 1.3% carbon, 4% vanadium and 5.5% tungsten. T1 has .75% carbon, 1% vanadium and 18% tungsten. These steels are not very much alike at all. I would think that working with a steel that has 18% tungsten would be a real pain for manufacturers and custom makers couldn't afford the belts and grinding wheels that they would go through.

White steel being a super fine grained steel, and blue steel being not quite as fine grained but has the vanadium and tungsten carbides. 2007年1月17日 · Overtemp risks grain growth, especially when held. O-1 hardens easily, so getting it quickly into 125F olive or canola oil should get good hardness. ATF may be a bit faster than is necessary. (I would agree that a commercial oil is better for repeated use, but would rather suggest Park AAA over Park50 for this particular steel).
