There's a reason it's banned in all competitive tf2. However, revolver spy is really underrated (stock is better for it) and can be often better than knife spy to help secure kills.

Any other revolver is to have fun, because as soon as you use them, you can not achieve perfection in your spy role anymore. You could maybe kill more (people who could have been killed by other class), but you can't deny their advantages (medics, teleporter, kill sniper) as efficiently. Even most of the cases where you think "oh yeah the ambassador would be really nice" you can also do just fine with the revolver if you fire an extra shot (which comes out very quick), have a little patience, or reposition yourself.
