The General Electric TF34 is an American military turbofan engine used on the A-10 Thunderbolt II, S-3 Viking and RQ-170 Sentinel.

The TF34, a 9,000-lb. thrust class high bypass military turbofan engine, delivers the highest thrust-to-weight ratio, the lowest specific fuel consumption and the quietest operation in its class. The wildly successful General Electric CF34 turbine is a mid-range, high-bypass-ratio fan targeting the large business jet and regional jet markets. The CF34 has been scaled from 8,500- to 18,500-lbst, compet-ing with the Rolls-Royce AE3007 and RB282, and P&WC PW300 at its lower end and the Rolls-Royce BR700 and PowerJet SaM146 at the upper end.

Engine B has a 1. 9:1 reduction gear driving the fan which permits direct use of the TF34 four-stage low-pressure turbine. Fan (B) and (C) are variable pitch with capability to move through zero pitch to negative angles to provide reverse thrust.
