TG4 was rebranded on 1 February 2021. The new on air package deconstructs the logo, with it animating to the infamous TG4 audio jingle. Visuals are based on Irish folklore.

TG4 has evolved from TV centric to a multimedia brand, and that evolution means the idents have to work in the multi-platform, multi-screen environment. The idea is to simplify TG4's brand interface on all screens and media while retaining the strengths of the previous identity.

TG4 is an Irish language television channel that started as Teilifís na Gaeltachta, a pirate channel, in 1987. The channel was given a license in 1996, after then, it was known as TnaG (Teilifís na Gaeilge) until 1999, when the channel was rebranded as TG4.

Made for Seán Cathal, Creative director of tg4, this ident was directed by Brian Williams, shot by D.O.P. Simon Walsh and produced by Dara McClatchie of Big Fish Films. The ident was shot on one of the lakes in Glendalough, Wicklow and features Sophie Merry as our swan.

The idents launched yesterday (1st of February 2021). The six new idents have six different themes. Windy Day (Spite Feamainne), Seaweed (Lá na Scolb), Rain Dance (Ní hé lá na báistí), Leporine (Cúinne an Ghiorria), Glass Blowing (Gloine) and Street Crossing (Léim Sráide).
