2000年12月8日 · I use a TH350 pump -direct drum bearing from a later style TH350. These can be ordered new (preferred). This torrington bearing replaces the stock thrust washer and rear selective tang washer in the TH400. Pictured here, bearing is on top:

California Z28 transmission was the TH350 automatic only (no manual). Clutch: 10.34-inch, down from previous 11-incher. Rear Axle Ratios were 3.42 (including California) for Turbo Hydra-Matic and 3.08 for 4-speed; no options Brakes: 11-inch, vented, cast-iron front discs with vacuum assist standard. Impala has a TH700 and Camaro has a TH350, I also have a Z28 with the TH400 driveshaft laying on the floor, different plans here. Camaro side of the operation is quite easy, I'll install the TH700 to the correct procedures and then slide the short TH400 driveshaft.

2020年8月19日 · As you found... The TH350 with a 9" tail housing will be virtually identical to the 700r4 length. The current driveshaft should work without issues. If it was a 1/2" longer (or shorter)... That's too much difference! But 1/16" shorter will just leave that much less contact with the driveshaft to the output shaft of the transmission. Long term...
