2006年3月4日 · The nice part of TR's and their wheels is that it is very easy to switch back and forth from wire to steel. TR's use bolt on adapters for wire wheels. 2023年11月29日 · I had original wires on my TR6 when I first restored it but found it was impossible to balance them so I switched to steel wheels and then eventually to Koenig Rewinds. I haven't regretted either of those changes but if I had to do it over again I'd have just started with the Rewinds in the first place.

2023年9月20日 · For me, the 70's shape of a TR6, is best suited to the original pressed steel wheel, over wire wheels. Finding companies these days that can balance wire wheels, can also be a challenge. They are also not as strong, and with the condition of UK roads, I am not sure I would consider them.

2012年6月18日 · Dayton also made a 15 X 6" wire wheel that also had an adjusted offset specifically for the MGC that worked very well and allowed some to use as wide as 205/60HR15 tires without any rubbing issues. With the Minator wheels (15 X 5.5" the offset is not adjusted quite specifically for the MGC so 195/65HR15 will rub.

Although they would fit the TR6, would there be any issues with handling, fitment, weight (strength of wires) etc as I know the TR6 option was for 72 spoke wheels and 5.5 width.
