The Triumph TR4 is a sports car produced by the Triumph Motor Company from 1961 to 1965. Successor to the TR3A, the TR4's chassis and drivetrain are closely related to those of its predecessor, but with an updated body designed by Michelotti.

TR4's ran successfully in SCCA sanctioned events across the country. This is the GT class at Sebring. From 1962 to 1964, the American public flocked to Triumph dealerships, snatching up the major portion of the 40,000 units produced.

2014年11月6日 · There's no such thing as TR4 "GT". It's a hardtop built in the US only in the 70' attempting to copy the GT6. Not very popular as far as i know and unrelated to the GTR4 Dove

2023年2月9日 · The TR4 was superior to the MGB in the following ways: -The fuel filler is on top of the tank, so it can't leak when you're parked on a hill with a vented gas cap. -The battery is in the engine compartment, easy to access. You did have to install a plastic liner to prevent acid overflow from cutting a slot in the plenum behind the battery.

2012年10月22日 · While Standard-Triumph marketed a hardtop version of the Triumph TR4 from the beginning, there was also a short-lived attempt to create a more commodious GT version: the Dové GTR4, marketed not by Triumph, but by L.F. Dove & Company Ltd. in Wimbledon, a major Standard-Triumph distributor.

Styling and coachwork: The new TR4 body style did away with the classical cutaway door design of the previous TRs to allow for wind-down (roll-up) windows (in place of less convenient side-curtains), and the angular rear allowed a boot (trunk) with considerable capacity for a sports car.
