Canadian, looking for NHL & NBA playoffs. TSN or Sportsnet?
Feb 6, 2022 · OP asked about TSN and Sportsnet (and indirectly NHL Live and NBA League Pass). CBC is a great free option that shows NHL games weekly, selected playoff games and the Stanley Cup Finals, but currently no NBA games. All NHL games carried on CBC are also available on Sportsnet (Sportsnet actually produces the broadcasts shown on CBC).

Bought TSN for the year, so far I totally regret it. : r/hockey - Reddit
Nov 26, 2023 · I bought the Black Friday 1 year deal. It was 135$ after tax. The two hockey games I tried to watch so far on TSN 2 were in a blackout. The “enhanced” feeds haven’t worked yet either. The chrome cast app doesn’t even tell you what is on the channels half the time, they just say TSN1 TSN2. What a joke.
Do you prefer TSN or Sportsnet more? : r/nhl - Reddit
I honestly miss the days of being able to watch NHL on both channels. Sportsnet had the local teams exclusives and TSN had the national broadcasts, outside of HNIC. But even with my 80 sports channel subscription with ShawTV, I'm blacked out of 75 of them most days.
What is wrong with TSN : r/hockey - Reddit
I can only watch Leafs games on the TSN channels (so no games between any of Canadiens, Senators, Jets, Flames, Canucks or Oilers). If there is an Oilers game on the same night as the Leafs, there is about a 40/60 chance the Oilers game is blacked out for me on channels like Sportsnet West.
Why do people like TSN instead of SportsNet? : r/hockey - Reddit
Personalities aside, TSN is a heritage station, meaning people grew up with them, and/or had their kids watch it. TSN is also built off of EPSN's format with sports center, while SN is like FS1 to ESPN. Trying to imitate the format, and coming up short. For the record, TSN launched in 1984, while SN was launched in 1998.
Is there no legal way to stream regional games? : r/nhl - Reddit
TSN has the rights to show Senators games to all subscribers in southeast Ontario, Quebec and the atlantic provinces. TSN probably thinks you are in Toronto or something, give them a call There is blackouts because TSN has not purchased …
TSN 4K channel : r/shaw - Reddit
Dec 30, 2022 · So as one user stated for hockey (NHL) Rogers owns that right for broadcasting. So any TSN regional games yes Bell has to pay Rogers. As for streaming, no chance in a country mile for streaming 4K. SN is at best 1080/60 and if I recall that’s only on the ATV - and honestly I don’t even think it’s that high to begin with.
[STEVE SIMMONS] Rogers unlikely to renew exclusive NHL rights …
I've seen a few comments already saying they are looking forward to using the TSN app instead of SN but it is definitely worse. Trying to watch any football this year has been a massive headache. I'm also very worried about the production value if TSN gets NHL back. CFL coverage has been awful considering it is exclusive to TSN.
