We are a theatre-making duo committed to challenging the limits of theatre to create unapologetically BLK spaces of liberation. We studied experimental and collaborative theatre-making at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where we both received a BFA in Drama. During our studies, we participated in the MLK Scholars program and graduated with honors.

Ta-Nia, a theater-making duo in Brooklyn, whose formative collaboration, Dreams in Black Major, premiered at the National Black Theatre in 2019, excavate that separation in their practice-based research. If the proverbial stage entertains limitless fantasy and the audience sits in concrete reality, what lies between?
