Taake (Norwegian:) is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, formed in 1993 and originally named Thule. The band's one continuous member is Hoest, who writes all and records most of the music. Taake has released eight full-length albums and several EPs.

The band was formerly known as Thule (1993-1995); Hoest then changed the name to Taake (the Norwegian word for "fog") in 1995 because he wanted the name to reflect the genuine Norwegian spirit of his music and lyrics. It is also a patriotic tribute to the fog that surrounds the seven mountains in his hometown Bergen.

Lørdag kveld spilte Taake på Vulkan Arena i Oslo, hvor de for første gang fremførte albumet «Doedskvad» i sin helhet. Dette albumet, som har blitt stående som en bauta i bandets karriere, regnes som et av de mest viktige verkene i norsk svartmetall.
