Tahanea Atoll is an uninhabited atoll of the Tuamotu Archipelago in French Polynesia. It is located 12 kilometres (7.5 miles) to the east of Faaite Atoll. Tahanea Atoll measures 48 kilometres (30 mi) in length with a maximum width of 15.2 kilometres (9.4 miles).

2019年10月11日 · Finally got some internet to share with you some of the highlights of our visit to the atoll of Tahanea in South Pacific country of French Polynesia. The atoll has no permanent residence, no airport and the only way to visit is by boat.

Tahanea is a uniquely pristine atoll. Uninhabited, undisturbed and a designated nature reserve, there is nothing there but untouched nature and minimal traces of human activity in the form of an abandoned village, very few coconut groves and some fisherman’s huts.

2024年8月8日 · The beauty of Tahanea really touched us. The white and pink sand, the crystal clear waters, the tall palm trees swaying in the winds and the beautiful sunsets and sunrises. We love it all!

2011年6月14日 · After Kauehi we did a 60 mile overnight passage to Tahanea (aerial view above), a national park atoll that is uninhabited and protected. Even the sign was rustic! Stops (center) at anchor in the lagoon near the middle pass.

2020年9月15日 · Tahanea is peaceful, tranquil, and mesmerizing. On most days, it called one of the most beautiful places on earth. Untouched by civilization, rarely visited by man, and generally as God created it. We’ve spent several weeks here last year and 3 weeks this year.

Originally dubbed the "Dangerous Islands" by French explorer Bougainville, these low-lying islands present a challenge because of the difficulty in navigating around and between them. This is not an area to sail at night nor without a good bow watch for coral heads and shoals.
