The Tan sau is a wing Chun hand that looks like the position when you ask for money with an extended hand. The Tan sau is one of the three key Wing Chun hand techniques, the other two being the Fook sau and the Bong sau. The Tan sau can be translated as a palm up hand or a spreading open hand or a dispersing hand.

This hand position is a combination of tan sao (high) and fut sao (low). Tan sao should rise out and fut sao should sweep out of the center simultaneously. This combination can be used to fill space in multiple zones.
