Tautavel (French pronunciation: ⓘ; Catalan: Talteüll) is a commune in the Pyrénées-Orientales department in southern France. It is home to The European Centre for Prehistoric Research (CERP). Tautavel Man, an early hominid and some of the oldest human remains in Europe, was found in Caune de l'Arago, a cave in the commune.

Tautavel est une commune rurale qui compte 911 habitants en 2022. Ses habitants sont appelés les Tautavellois ou Tautavelloises. A European Prehistory Centre, the Tautavel Museum, can be found at the heart of the Corbières, in the Pyrénées-Orientales. It is dedicated to the Prehistoric period and more particularly to the discoveries made on the Caune de l'Arago site, where the famous Tautavel Man was found, an ancient Preneanderthal Man who is 450,000 years old.
