Teaninich distillery is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Alness, Scotland.

An almost unique distillery in its absence of a mash tun, Teaninich is one of Diageo's giant workhorses, producing malt whisky for its range of blends. In 2000 a hammer mill and mash filter – the only one operational in a Scottish malt distillery – was installed at Teaninich.

The Teaninich Distillery is one shrouded in mystery. Founded in 1817, the Highland single malt whisky producer today has an annual capacity of 10.2 million litres and distills for brands including Haig Dimple, VAT 69 and Johnnie Walker.

Teaninich distillery was founded in 1817 by Captain Hugh Munro as one of the first legal distilleries. The soldier, later known as a war hero, rebuilt Teaninich Castle and at the same time built the distillery.
