Construction of the Teton River Idaho Temple has been underway for the past four-and-a-half months, and the foundation walls are now rising above grade. The temple site is located approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south of the Teton River, which is a tributary of the Henry's Fork of the Snake River.

On April 3, 2022, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Montpelier Idaho Temple at the April 2022 General Conference. Montpelier, Idaho, is a community of around 2,500 people located just north of Bear Lake along the southeastern Idaho border.
