2012年5月24日 · Their son John was christened at Broadclyst on 21 July 1795 and he married Anne HANCOCK at Broadclyst on 1 September 1821. Their son William was christened at Pimperne in Dorset on 14 December 1823 and it was he who eventually found his way to London where his daughter married into the WILLIAMS line.

Alternative names: Broad Clist, Clist Broad, Broadclyst, Broadclist, Broad Clyst. Parish church: St John the Baptist. Parish registers begin: Nonconformists include: Baptist and Wesleyan Methodist.

The Nonant family held the manor from about AD1100 to 1340. The original manor house no longer survives but a wall of the undercroft has been revealed in excavation and is preserved on the boundary wall of Broadclyst churchyard.

On the Broadclyst Village section of the Tithe Map of 1844, the Apportionment states that the Church House Chamber was now listed as two cottages, and eventually it was converted into a Bier House, Coach house and stables.
