Tigridia pavonia 'Lilacea' (Tiger Flower) is a tender bulbous perennial with striking flowers adorned with three large, vibrant purple outer petals and a central cluster of three smaller petals covered with red speckles. Similarly to daylilies, the delicate flowers of Tigridia bloom for only a single day.

The genus Tigridia consists of 12 low-resistant perennial corm plants with lanceolate basal leaves (plus 2-3 small leaves on the peduncle) and bright flowers with a tiger skin-like pattern that bloom only one day. The flowers are yellow, orange, purple with bright dark spots in the center, 6 petals form a wide bowl.
