Hydrodynamic activity and tilted oil-water contacts in the North Sea
2000年1月1日 · In the central North Sea, OWCs in the Cretaceous Chalk Group and in Paleocene sandstones can be naturally tilted by bed-parallel hydrodynamic activity as the Central Graben dewaters. Examples of fields with interpreted tilted OWCs are described, and set within their regional hydrodynamic context.
TILTED OIL WATER CONTACT - LinkedIn
2018年2月11日 · Understanding the characteristics of tilted oil-water contacts within reservoirs is important for well deployment, selection of well pattern and types, determination of test section, reservoir...
Tilted oil–water contacts: modelling the effects of aquifer ...
In the North Sea tilted oil–water contacts (OWCs) are recognized in fields of Paleocene, Cretaceous and Jurassic age. In areas where lateral pressure (potentiometric) gradients exist in the aquifer, OWCs dip in the direction of pressure drop and hydrodynamic flow occurs.
Equation for defining hydrodynamic oil-water contact surface and …
2016年12月1日 · In this paper, we derived an equation defining the surface of a tilted OWC. Based on the derived tilted OWC equation, an easy-to-understand alternative approach, “structure surface transformation approach”, was developed for mapping hydrodynamic traps.
Tectonic controls on residual oil saturation below the present …
2020年4月1日 · Breached and reformed seal, tilted fluid contact due to hydrodynamic aquifer and regional or local basin tilt are the main processes that generate residual oil below the FWL and OWC (Melzer et al., 2006).

哈得4CⅢ油藏隔夹层控制倾斜油水界面成因数值模拟
Abstract: The Hade 4CⅢreservoir is a marine sandstone reservoir with edge and bottom water, where there is a largely-tilted oil-water contact (OWC) with a height difference of nearly 100 m. The hydrocarbon accumulation mechanism and the origin of the tilted OWC are still controversial.
Physics-Based Initialization Captures Post-Migration Structural ...
2020年11月9日 · This study attempts to describe and model the process leading to the genesis of the tilted oil-water contact (OWC) observed in the lower part of the Thamama Group in an offshore Abu Dhabi field. Post-oil-migration deformation is thought to be the mechanism that produced a tilted OWC dipping towards the Northeast.
Hydrodynamic activity and tilted oil-water contacts in the North …
1998年7月1日 · In the central North Sea, tilted oil-water contacts (OWCs) are observed in several traps in the Cretaceous chalk and Palaeocene sandstone. These are thought to be caused by hydrodynamic activity in the aquifers as the Central Graben continually de-waters.
Tilted original oil/water contact in the Arab-D reservoir, Ghawar …
We propose to interpret the tilted OOWC in the Ghawar Arab-D reservoir by the combined effects of changes in oil and water densities in and around the Ghawar field.
